Officially Engaged!

Well, for those who didn't know, or were DYING to see pictures, here are some we finally got tonight thanks to Marks fabulous sister Jamie. (Pretty sure she's going to be my favorite sister in law =P.....okay she's my only one really for now). It's pretty crazy to think we've almost been engaged for a week! (He proposed on the 31st...3 days after moving here-what a week for him!) I'm marrying my high school sweetheart!

We've had fun brainstorming ideas and talking about options for various wedding-related things. Tonight I told him he needed to have more of an opinion on things so I didn't feel like I was running the show. So to make me feel better, he's supposed to come up with some ideas of his own...come on honey! At least let me have something to shoot down! =) But I can't blame him for his desire to keep me sane and happy as well.

We've picked June 12th. (Yes Aunt Kath a late graduation bash for Kaelyn I guess!) I told him tonight that I am excited, but I still just can't believe WE'RE GETTING MARRIED after 6 1/2 (7 officially in April) years of dating/liking each other. For those that may not know the background as much, he and his family moved into our ward at church my sophomore year (fall 2003). I first took note actually of his two brothers-simply as "hey new guys in the ward...knowing me and my boy craziness, I'll probably end up liking one of them" haha.....boy that was an understatement. April 2004 we admitted (online using a hypathetical situation of course) that we liked each other. Somehow...it worked out. There was some drama but I wouldn't trade any of it!

We feel ready for this step (finally!). I never thought it could be so much fun to talk about one day buying a home, raising a family and simply making a life that is completely together. Mark is so good to me in too many ways to count. He says he's lucky, but I think my luck in snagging him far outweighs any luck he feels in finding me.

We can't help but laugh when we think that 3 months ago, he was ALMOST home from his mission. People learn how short a time he's been back and they then assume we dated before the mission. True, but the next time someone asks, I want to say no and see their reaction....hey! Around here, it's normal to date for only a month or so! Crazy but true!

Wedding plans are beginning to formulate but are still somewhat vauge. June 12th 2010. We will be sealed in the LA temple and have the reception at the stake center back in Simi most likely. I will update with more plans as time goes for sure. =)
