A New Home

Well I think we hold the record for soonest move after marriage. Almost 1 month exactly after being married (3 weeks in our old apartment married), we moved to the other side of Provo. With the help of Mom and Dad and Ryan, we got our 6 pieces of furniture (2 couches, table, dresser, and bed) moved with minimal damage. We are now on the 3rd floor and the stairwells were unhelpful to say the least with moving bulky furniture.
We are very excited for this new home. As you can see, there are REAL walls (Provo is almost always Cinderblock), with chair rails along the walls. Later in the post you'll see a few other perks. As it is small and we don't have a lot of stuff, we were basically all moved in (and exhausted) by Saturday evening. It's fun to finally be in a place and feel like we're really living here. In our old apartment we lived there but didn't bother doing much because we were moving soon. So although the furniture hasn't changed, here's a grand tour of our new (and very much improved) apartment!

Bedroom

Bathoom...it's a miracle! We actually have 2 drawers, counterspace and storage under the sink!

Our kitchen. Hurray for a gas stove...not to mention brand new gas stove and fridge. We use the dishwasher as a drying rack because we don't really ever fill it up. Above the cabinets you can see how we've had to make do with storage....

Our "dining room". That set of drawers is where we keep silverware, cooking utensils and office supplies. And yes, that is my Wizard of Oz Calendar hanging. A big thanks to my parents for letting us borrow their folding chairs until we can afford to buy some of our own!

Our living room. I think we decided to get rid of the smaller couch to open it up. Maybe we'll put a cool bean bag or egg chair there or something. Or build a cave around Mark's computer so he can have man time when he games. =)

And now the amazing perks:
A WASHER AND DRYER! It's amazing. I've already forgotten about laundry twice and just laughed when I remembered. I don't think I will miss coin laundry at all. It's not that loud either.

Hard to find in Provo Housing but a THERMOSTAT! Yes this baby comes with AC and Heat. It's lovely and is SOOO much better than using a box fan all day. To the left is our internet jack as well. A downside yet a plus side was we had to get our own internet. It's awesome. Way fast and it ironically doesn't cut out all the time like most giant wireless systems do.

It was difficult for me to say the least to transition from tons of space to very little space. But we've done pretty well and I think have minimal ghetto storage really. The pros definitely outweigh the few cons like little We look forward in the coming weeks as we really get settled in and completely accostomed to our new new life. storage space and not as close to campus.

Very nice! It's hard to tell from the pictures, but could you put the small couch in the dining room? Then you would still have some more seating.....or stick it in your bedroom! Just a thought! Can't wait to see it in person! When will you be hosting your first dinner party? ;)
