Tulip Festival

Each spring, Utah has an event at Thanksgiving Point called the Tulip Festival. You can assume correctly that it's a huge garden where they plant all different colors of tulips. Since Tulips are my favorite flower, we've been meaning to go for years. This year we finally made it. It was however the last day so it was extra busy, and the flowers weren't as freshly planted looking, but we still enjoyed the trip out.
The temperature was great. A bit cooler on some sides of the gardens. On others, it was a warm spring afternoon.

Fun yet sad fact, I had tulips in my bridal bouquet. However, it wasn't until I was handed my bouquet coming out for pictures that I was informed tulips do not work in a bouquet in full bloom. So I had little budding tulips. But these tulips were what I had envisioned.

We also ran into a former roommate of mine, Meredith and her cousin. It was fun to catch up and visit for a few months since I hadn't seen her since January when we were up in Salt Lake. What were the odds in such a huge location? At the same time, a huge event that thousands flock to each year lowered those odds.

Of course a trip to Thanksgiving Point would not be complete without a stop to their old fashioned ice cream shop. Truly the best dessert ever: ice cream, chocolate chip cookie, hot fudge, and whipped cream. Pretty sure I could happily eat one all to myself (though feel sick after), but we share it anyways for the sake of both of our waistlines.
