With about 2 1/2 months to go now my dress has been altered and will be ready for pickup on April 26th. We're looking to do bridals on the 30th or so. In a few more weeks I think we'll be doing engagements. With school I've been putting it off a bit at least until my three research papers are due.
It's going to be difficult since Utah has lost the snow but is still very...dead looking to say the least. I've gotten suggestions such as the courthouse, library or the rock waterfall place near Heritage dorms. We'll see what our master photographer has to say. At some point we have talked about going shopping together so our outfits coordinate somewhat. I'd like to wear my white skirt or denim jumper but we'll see. I'm pretty sure I'll have to buy some new shoes for the event...darn.

I think we're left with the cake flowers, figuring out material for table squares, and renting some stuff. Oh and invitiation printing and stuffing of course. We've gotten all the attire purchased for me as well as my sisters and brother in laws. After much declining, Mom and I found a tiara that was small enough I didn't feel like a 5 year old in one of those giant crowns. We looked at the possibility of those net hats but they didn't fit my personality or look great on me. So we found this as well as the necklace and earrings at Icing by Claires.

We're still working on a cake for sure but below is kind of the idea of what we're going for. Because our two colors (blue and yellow) have quite the contrast,
alternating colors might look wierd. So we like the idea of this cake, only maybe blue being the bigger ribbon and yellow being the centered, smaller size ribbon....and only 3 layers..maybe just 2...and scratch the flowers...just a cake top. We've thrown around precious moments wedding cake top but nothing's been decided for sure.

The store "Head Over Heels" is the most addicting yet adorable clothing store for skirts and shoes! We just glanced in there and the next thing I knew, Mom and Monica were having me try this outfit on and mom was paying for it!
We're starting to plan our honeymoon which we're both way excited for (no not in the awkward way you think I mean!). We've got housing lined up and I'll be moving into our apartment the beginning of May to make working a little easier rather than commuting from home with mom or via bus. The couple whose contract we took over are moving to Texas so they also sold their couchset to us for $100. We felt pretty lucky as even with going to RC Willey or using KSL.com, I doubted we could even get 1 couch for that price and have it be nice. They're a creamish color so not the most ideal but they're comfortable and will make our little abode feel more homey-ish.
I suppose at this moment in time, it's time we announce that we've decided to add a special person, somewhat pre-nuptually to our family.......OUR KITCHEN AID MIXER!!!!!!!! Yes, thanks to Mom sharing her 30% Kohls discount card and a great sale price, we decided to purchase an original white kitchen aid mixer for $119. Although I was hesitant as we both know we want to save for things like oh a bed and kitchen table, we decided we would not see another offer like this and certainly may be a while before we could afford one at normal price. It's sitting in my room at home but the moment I'm moved in, I plan to break that baby out and make some fun treats with it. We're both pretty excited, who knows, we'll do a christmas card with it! (Just kidding..)
I've got just under a month left of my job as an RA (almost 8 months can you believe it!?). As much as I have MOSTLY enjoyed my time and experience as an RA, I'm more than ready to get OUT of the dorms, start making more money and becoming a wife this summer in our own apartment where we aren't constantly surrounded by obnoxious freshman. (Glad I never was one...really!) Aside from one online class I'll be taking, we're both looking forward to a pretty fun summer together..the first one in over 2 years! The perfect break before the last stretch before i GRADUATE from BYU. I've got about 18 credits left before I can graduate. I'll be splitting those between fall and winter (heavier in the fall). I'm excited yet a little nervous as I'm not 100% sure what I where I want to work. I've recently applied for an internship with a Head Start program. If I get it, I'm hoping that experience will help me to know if that's what I want to do or not. It'll be similar to what I did in Romania only with kids that understand (generally) English but still have developmental delays/physical disabilities. Until then, we've got t-minus 24 days until the end of the semester!
In all of this planning, sometimes I take a step back and still can't comprehend how lucky I am. My mother in law has been so helpful and supportive in planning. The stereotype of awkward in-law relationships is the furthest thing from what mine will be. Perhaps I know them a little too well as I already get harassed from time to time, but I love Mark's family and am excited to become part of it. My family hasn't been AS opinionated as I feared. And most importantly, my fiance has been 100% supportive of me all semester as I adjusted to juggling RA-ing, school, him and wedding planning. I am so grateful to him as he is often my much needed escape from "real life". I definitely am in witht he crowd of married women who feel like they are married to the most amazing man in the world. To find a man who LIKES cleaning (minus vaccuming--his one flaw), will help with cooking, and will support you in anything you have a passion for is such a blessing to have.
We are so excited to be getting married in just over 2 months and to have all of our family there in CA. I cannot wait to step into the sealing room holding Marks hand and look around to see each of my own sisters in there as well as my parents, and other family and friends that mean so much to us.

Yeah! I'm so happy for you!
Brittany! You're so organized...I love it! My sister is getting married in less than two weeks and its actually kinda hectic...I don't know how they're gonna get it all wrapped up the way they want it before their big day! Anyway, I'm so excited for you guys! It sounds like things are going smoothly. :) OH, and great buy on the kitchen aid mixer...I'm a little jealous...I don't have one yet, but want one!! Good luck with finals coming up! Love you!
