Mark and I rarely get sick. So far in marriage, we have been lucky enough to only fight a few colds, and minor gross-feeling days. Mark always tries to play tough. I usually end up "encouraging" him to take a nap and, like his mother, tell him I'll check on him in a half-hour.
This past fall there was an afternoon where I really wasn't myself. I told Mark my symptoms and he, being so computer research savvy looked them up on the computer, and went to the store and got a few things that other people had said help. (Though I'm not sure where the powdered doughnuts came in as medicine...)
This past week, my stomach had a strange reaction to either food or medicine I had been taking for back pain. We were watching my nephew at the time so Mark went out and bought me a huge soda and some real dinner as we hadn't eaten yet that night. I devoured the taco salad he got, but even with the soda still felt sickly as we got home. He made me rest on the couch and kept tabs on me. Then in his moment of pure genius-ness, he drew the above "scale" for me to indicate how I was feeling. Thank you Dr. Mark! I have been feeling fabulous ever since!
