Week 15

We've made it to 15 weeks. I'm still fitting into clothes somewhat but things are slowly getting tighter and more awkward. After a week plus of wearing my loose housing shirts, it was a harsh reality check to realize I've hit that awkward stage where you feel chubby and EXTREMELY self conscious in public. I basically wear the same 3 pairs of capris and can still fit into 2 pairs of jeans (somewhat). I have used the miraculous belly band and found that is much more effective than stretching out all of my hair ties to keep my pants up. I'm looking forward to growing a bit more in the next month or two and looking pregnant rather than have just gained the freshman 15...and maybe fitting into some maternity clothes.

So here's life at 15 weeks:

  • I'm using the bathroom less frequently..only 10 times a day rather than 15 (thank heavens!)
  • Food is a lot more appealing. For a few weeks I only liked chicken. Beef was disgusting to even think about. We recently had Sloppy Jo's at my mother-in-law's house and I have to say those are heavenly!
  • I'm horrified at my sudden ability to burp....I DO NOT burp EVER. It's embarrassing sometimes...like in the middle of church. Mark just laughs.
  • I LOVE pickles and tomatoes right now. I may or may not have visited subway multiple times in the last 2 weeks. There's just something that my taste buds love about that combination with some lettuce and turkey. (Better than McDonalds during weeks 7-9!)
  • Senses are in high gear. As a comedian once said, I'm fairly confident pregnant women would do just as well as dogs at the border sniffing for drugs....You sometimes feel like a crazy person smelling things no one else notices.
  • While I will never divulge my actual weight for the internet to see, I will say that I've so far gained the proper amount and hoping that with getting back into the gym routine and finding a yoga video to do I can continue on a healthy weight gain track.
  • Still anxiously waiting to start feeling movements in a few more weeks. I have a good friend and a cousin-in-law who are 1-2 months ahead of me. It's so fun to talk to them and find out what they're experiencing!
Gender ultrasound is scheduled for October 8th. Glad I have almost 2 weeks of traveling to help pass the time between now and then. Mark and I are 50/50 on gender guesses. I haven't had the nerve to buy anything specific because I know it'll be the opposite of whatever I buy. Feel free to leave guesses below.

Haha! I hear you on the enhanced sense of smell, Brittany. I was like a bloodhound when I was pregnant.

I'm gonna guess...girl. :)

I'm hoping girl because girl baby clothes are so much more fun to buy.
