Christmas was a blast. We had a lot of fun, Jack got way too many presents, it was a white Christmas, and by the end of the day, everyone was tired and happy.
A few days before Christmas, we hosted a wild play date here with kids from the ward/neighborhood. I made nearly 80 sugar cookies. They were super yummy and it was a good thing I made so many because by the end there was only a dozen or so left! The cookies were amazing but after about 2 days they started to taste a little like the sour cream I added to the recipe. Bleh!
I let Jack go to town decorating and he put a tiny bit of frosting on and about 5 pounds of sprinkles. But he thought it was awesome- we've never decorated cookies before.
In Mark's family, Christmas Eve is the big event. After buying cookie cutters for the sugar cookies I wanted to get one more use out of them. So instead of traditional rice krispy treats, I used the cookie cutters to make them into shapes. They were nice and thick and a hit as no one on his side of the family has been exposed to the heavenly joy of peanut butter rice krispy treats.

| He was too busy looking at everything to pause for a picture with GranMary |
| Aunt Jamie had handy hats for everyone to wear. Jack thought it was cool....for about 2 minutes. |
| Santa came and everyone .....yes everyone including me sat on (or next to) his lap. |
| Jack couldn't wait to open presents this year. |
| His treasured trucks from Uncle Luke. These are so loved they even made it into his birthday photoshoot! |
| 1AM. I had finally finished wrapping. We got home late from the Littlefield party...but honestly, staying up late is my thing on Christmas. |
| Christmas morning. So many gifts.... |
| Opening the box from "Nana". We finally finished the last of the heavenly milka last week. Hopefully she brings some with her in June. Otherwise it's going to be a long year until I can go myself! |
| Setting up the crane from Aunt Jamie. Can you see the anticipation in his eyes?! |
| He is a natural at operating it. It only took him a few minutes to learn when to stop turning and go in reverse. |
After attending a shortened church service, we came home and skyped with Maria. We sent her chocolate oranges, plenty of yummy candy, the Elf Movie and a photo book of her year here. I think she enjoyed it. We talked more with her about plans to do a trip while she is here in June/July. So excited for her to come back!
Christmas evening we went out to my parents' house and got to celebrate and open gifts with 3 of my sisters. Sadly next year there will be one less sister and 2 less cousins around. The kids had a blast and I think by the end of the night Grandma W was happy to have her quiet house back!
My grandma crocheted us all infinity scarves and made scarves for our husbands as well. They are so warm and it's so fun to have something handmade like that. I love wearing it but at the same time I fear something snagging it....Like a dog claw or kid.

| All the Utah grand kids. |
| Day after Christmas blues. Jack got a bit sick from all the late night partying. But he sure loved his new toys. |
On New Years we decided to do a mini train ride for Jack. He kept talking about wanting to ride a train and loves watching the "bridge arms" come down for trains. So we devised a plan. I rode on the train with Jack from Provo to Lehi (20 minutes). Mark met us in Lehi and then we went to lunch after. The joy on his face was priceless. The train wasn't even all the way out of the station and Jack goes "Mom this is so fun!"

| Laying down on the job???? |
| GranMary and Great Grandma and Great Grandma Martin got Jack a table and 2 chairs for the basement. It comes in handy for kinetic sand! |
This basically sums up Christmas this year....we had one happy and well-spoiled 2 year old!
