Some moments, I really still can't believe that I'm living where I am. It's just so crazy, breathtaking and shocking all at once. If there's any major excursion I contemplated for the age of 21, it was a mission (NOT marriage believe it or not). Honestly when I first heard of the country, I didn't even know for sure where it was. Sometime, look on google earth and go from Utah to Romania...you'll see it's a long ways off!
I was surprised to realize that since coming back from mid-semester retreat, I have little to no time for anything and it's only going to get worse as in the last 4 weeks we have we have closure
assignments, child write ups, brigance re-testing, our own research to start writing about etc. In the daily mix between 9-12 and 2-5/4-6 (M,F/T-Th), there's journaling, eating of course, sleeping showering/cooling off, and scripture reading. It doesn't sound like a lot but it gets late so fast here..much like tonight.
My kids are awesome. This week has been really great. Today was insane as the kids went bazurk from being inside all three hours because of the rain. But it's been so fun. I think the best (despite the awkwardness), is the daily greeting I get from Vallie: runs to me, wraps her arms around my legs, and puts her head against my knees which is about the level of my pelvic bone...lovely I know! I struggle sometimes as a lot of the kids I work with are filled with so much energy and have no way to let it out. But when I get my one-on-one time with them, it's so fun! Who knew that a kid could learn to understand/recognize songs like Wheels on the Bus, Little Cabin in the Woods, and Popcorn Popping and do the corresponding motions in a language that's not evern their own? I talked to my parents last sunday and I spent probably a good 20 minutes telling them about all of these kids...and could have done much more I'm sure, so just a fair warning to others for when I get back. I'll sound like the abnoxious returned missionary who is always telling stories... )
You can hear mostly me here in this video but the little girl laughs a little bit too. She's quite a ball full of energy. A few weeks ago, she got angry and decided to pee on Jena.....
