Weekends in Iasi

Friday is probably the most looked-forward-to day for me. It's not that I don't love working during the week. Being with the children is most of the time what keeps me going at times. But 5 days wears you out. So I find myself (much like school) looking forward to the precious weekend where we have more time to explore and relax (or something similar).

My roomates and I have started this..tradition I guess. Saturdays are pancake mornings, and Sundays are crepes. I might spice thing up and actually make breakfast for them on Saturday (they might fall over if I have success cooking more than just noodles and rice). So we ate bannana pancakes with lemon syrup and then did our Saturday morning "chores" since we hadn't cleaned our apartment in 2 weeks.

Around 3, we headed to Tiger Cucu (sp?...the metro station) where we took the tram down to some park for a picnic with the Relief Society sisters. We first had to cross the bridge pictured above which as you can see, is rather old and even had pieces missing and loose! (Sometimes I think that if I manage to come back in one piece I should get a t-shirt that says so).
So once we got across the treacherous bridge, it was gorgeous! It was more like being in the countryside than an actual park. We all brought snacks to share, and found a spot amidst the cow pies to enjoy it. We then played some games. We started out with american games such as volleyball in a circle, and tag. But then the Romanians taught us this new game that's rather tare (cool). I luckily got out of the game but I can't wait to try and teach the little ones at home this game. It'd be a riot!

After our funfilled afternoon, we came home, relaxed and later got ready for bed. Keilani used our 1/2 bathroom (no shower in that one) and closed the door and couldnt get out. It took 2 of us shoving ourselves against the door and her pulling to get it out. It was a good thing we got her out! The door fit really tightly in the frame so we couldn't have even passed pieces of crepes under the door to her for survival!

Oh Brittany...I love reading your stories...they're so funny!! The countryside really does look so beautiful there! I so wish I was there enjoying the experiences with you. But motherhood keeps me pretty busy. :) Crazy how AimeeLynn will be turning one on Friday! Seriously...where did all the time go?? I might need to have me another little one...maybe, just maybe. :) Love you!!
