Okay. So a lot of the older women dye their hair here....but it's not really like in the states where they have a classy dark brown or black...its red...or sometimes purple...and looks obviously fake. My favorite lady I saw either had a horrible hairdresser or it had grown out too far. So it looked like she had a purple ring around her head. So, as we have become fascinated with it, we decided it would be fun to dye our hair...or at least put streaks in it.
The color we selected was "gangster
red"....so we were even more excited. It was a washout that was supposed to be gone with 10-12 washings so we weren't too worried....
red"....so we were even more excited. It was a washout that was supposed to be gone with 10-12 washings so we weren't too worried.... The girl dying the hair is one of my lovely roommates Ashley. She was the only one who had some experience dying hair...she also has offered to cut hair...I'm not sure if I get desperate enough if I'd trust her who at least speaks my language, or walk into a strange Romanian hair salon and perhaps have it turn out worse! Embarassing story about the middle picture here, I'm actually laughing because amidst four other girls in the bathroom, I managed to....expell some gas rather...audibly to the rest. I was to say the least humiliated...what can I say? My dinner apparently hadn't sat well with me that night. Thankfully that's all the digestive problems I've had this far.
Sadly, after all the
excitement, the color didn't show at all in my hair. We were warned that bleaching would help but none of us were brave enough to do so......so don't worry mom, it's no worse than the red I've put in before.

Brittany! I am so glad you hair didn't turn into some retro red color! And I'm so glad that when we were still rooming together you trusted me enough to cut your hair! :) I love you!
I totally forgot about that "risk taking/rebel" experieice. Now that Ashley knows, I'll probably end up giving in and letting her do it in July or so.
